Terms and Conditions

REPS Competition Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing an entry to a REPS competition, all participants agree to these Terms & Conditions. It is the participant’s responsibility to read and understand these terms before entering.

2. Eligibility

  • Participants must meet any age, category and eligibility requirements specified for the event.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring they are physically capable of taking part in the competition.
  • REPS reserves the right to refuse entry or remove a participant from the competition if their behaviour is unsafe, abusive or contrary to the spirit of the event.

3. Assumption of Risk

Climbing is an activity that carries an inherent risk of injury. By participating, entrants acknowledge and accept these risks.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Participants must comply with all instructions given by REPS staff, judges, volunteers and the host climbing facility.

4. Refunds & Cancellations

Participant Cancellation

  • Participants who notify REPS of their cancellation at least 14 days before the scheduled event date are entitled to a full refund of their entry fee.
  • Cancellation requests received less than 14 days before the event are non-refundable.

Refund requests must be submitted using the contact details provided by REPS.

Ticket Transfers

REPS may, at its discretion, permit participants to transfer their entry to another eligible competitor before the event. Any transfer requests must be approved by REPS.

Cancellation by REPS

If REPS cancels the event, participants will receive a full refund of the entry fee or, where offered, may choose to transfer their entry to a rescheduled event.

Event Changes

REPS reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the event schedule, format, judging arrangements, routes, scoring procedures or other operational aspects where necessary for safety, fairness or practical reasons.

5. Photography & Video

Photography and video recording may take place throughout the event for promotional, marketing and editorial purposes.

By attending the event, participants acknowledge that they may be photographed or filmed.

Participants who do not wish to appear in photographs or video must inform REPS during event registration on the day. They will be issued with a designated wristband to identify that they should not be photographed or intentionally included in promotional media.

While REPS will take reasonable steps to respect these requests, participants acknowledge that it may not always be possible to avoid incidental appearance in wide-angle crowd photographs or background footage.

6. Competition Format

The competition format, scoring system and rules will be published before the event.

REPS reserves the right to amend the competition format where reasonably necessary to ensure the safe and fair running of the competition.

The decision of the judges is final.

7. Participant Conduct

Participants must:

  • Follow all venue rules.
  • Treat fellow competitors, judges, volunteers and staff with respect.
  • Avoid behaviour that could endanger themselves or others.
  • Comply with all reasonable instructions given by event officials.

REPS reserves the right to remove any participant whose conduct is unsafe, abusive or disruptive without refund.

8. Venue Rules

All participants must comply with the policies and safety requirements of the host climbing facility in addition to these Terms & Conditions.

9. Personal Information

Personal information provided during registration will be used for administering the competition and communicating important event information.

Information will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

10. Contact

Any questions regarding these Terms & Conditions should be directed to REPS using the contact details published on the official event website or registration platform.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with the competition shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
