What is it about?
REPS is a competition series operating at a National Level to provide hopeful athletes an important, final opportunity to train on high-level comp boulders, under pressure, before the real season begins. Climbs will be set with reach in mind, but the level will be high. Therefore, we recommend a minimum age of 13, although please note that there will be no age-based split categories.
Competitions will take place at the following venues on the dates below.
The Project Climbing Centre: 03/10/26
Chimera Climbing Chatham: tbc
Chimera Climbing Tunbridge Wells: tbc
Please make sure you have bought your ticket to the event beforehand and that you have separately pre-registered with the host wall. If you do not have a membership, you will be required to pay entry to the host wall as well.
Youth athletes should also refer to the supervision policies of the host gym.
Format:
Qualifying will be a selection of 8 blocs in each Open and Female categories, with 4 unique and 4 shared boulders. Athletes will have 2 hours in a scramble format to attempt these boulders with a maximum of 5 attempts on each. Scores will be awarded as Tops and Zones and must be signed by a witness to be validated.
The top 8 athletes in each category will go through into a world climbing format final with four blocs in each category and a zone worth 10 points and a top worth 25.
Prizes:
To keep costs low, there are no official prizes; however, there may be the opportunity for some gear prizes provided by a sponsor and/or small medals. The main purpose of the event is to provide a high-level training opportunity for the athletes.
